volunteer approval process
As a volunteer you may choose a yearlong commitment partnering with girls in a troop or something shorter such as a 6 week Series program. Not interested in working directly with girl? Choose to assist behind the scenes of one of our many programs or assist staff in one of our 7 offices with filing, mailings or data entry.
To become an approved volunteer for Girl Scouts – Dakota Horizons you need to complete the following steps
- Complete and submit a paid Adult Registration Form
- Complete and submit a Volunteer Application
or complete the
Online Volunteer Application
After we receive your Volunteer Application the following will happen:
- Background check is run
- References are contacted
- Follow-up phone call made (for troop/group advisers & co-advisers/leaders)
- Appointment letter sent out
Once you have received notification that you have been approved your Membership Specialist or another staff person will contact you so you can begin your volunteer role.
