mission statement

women of distinction

women of distinction

Over the last 22 years, Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons has been honoring outstanding women, girls and businesses who have made a difference in your community. These individuals are nominated by their peers and chosen by a selection committee through their accomplishments to receive one of the following awards.

This year, in the spirit of collaboration, we’ve partnered with Buffalo Gals and the Fusion Foundation to present our awards at the first ever International Women’s Day Conference on March 4-5 at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn in Rapid City. This is your chance to champion women and the talents they bring to the table, continue to show your support for Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons and keep the welfare of our community top of mind. Please consider submitting a nomination for one of these prestigious awards.

These individuals don’t always receive the recognition they deserve and we are proud to be able to do that and show the community their local leaders!
