Great Girl Gathering
A two-day birthday celebration will be held at the Mall of America on March 10-11, 2012. The weekend will kick off with a Girl Scout parade on the morning of Saturday, March 10th. Other activities include a program showcase, alumnae events and special appearances, style shows, a Girl Scout shop, memorabilia displays, the unveiling of a commemorative work of art by an emerging female artist and the world’s largest cookie booth. Dakota Horizons is coordinating transportation to this exciting event.
Rock the Mall
On June 9, 2012, Girl Scouts from across the country will come together and lift their voices. Girl Scouts and guests will gather at the National Mall in Washington D.C., drawing crowds of 250,000 people in a sing-along.
Centennial Camporee
Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia will host a National Camporee at Fort Stewart, June 25-30, 2012, to celebrate the 100th Anniversary! The Camporee will hold a wide range of educational experiences and skill-building activities for girls. Focus will be on STEM and challenge/team-building programs such as geocaching, astronomy, robotics, engineering, riflery, photography and much more. There will also be opportunities to experience the traditional activities that Girl Scouts have enjoyed for nearly 100 years such as archery, compass skills, signal, semaphore, Morse code, map reading, outdoor cooking, craft making, song shares, campfires, swaps, nature studies and of course…S’mores!
California Dreamin’ Camporee
Experience the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting and participate in a once in a lifetime event! Join us July 29 – August 5, 2012 for the California Dreamin’ Camporee in the fabulous San Francisco Bay Area! California Dreamin’ Camporee will offer on-site workshops, off-site adventures, evening activities and much, much more. The Camporee is open to all Girl Scouts 11-18 years old or entering 6th – 12th grades and their advisers. This is a troop or patrol event and not designed for individual girls to attend.
